So I was talking to my brother the other day. He was telling me about this chick who has apparently had a thing for him for like years. And here's what I don't get: if he has yet to express any interest in her, and it has literally been years, why does she still like him?
I know people say "you can't help who you like" and stuff like that, but the truth is, I think you can. And this particular situation is one I just don't understand. The last time I liked someone who didn't me back was in the 6th grade. Ever since then, if I liked him, it was mutual and we were probably a thing. I don't see the point; if he doesn't like me back, why am I still into him? Are there not 3.5 billion other guys in the world to set my sights on?
But maybe that's just me.

Although he hasn't expressed any interest in her, he hasn't said no and sometimes it's difficult to move on without a definite and resounding "NO".
Also... it just might not be as easy as you imagine to meet someone you find compatible... 3.5 billion guys does not factor in those who are the same age, same vicinity..or simply put, someone you'd within reason, be able to meet (I picked this narrowing of the 3.5 billion up from the show, "How I Met Your Mother".)

@unfathomablelove@xanga - True say... I found out that my colleague had liked me for 3 years! I was amazed!!! I had to turn him down since I carry no feeligns for him, but sweet non-the-less.
@unfathomablelove@xanga - Thanks for the comment! She did ask him directly, but he didn't say no in a very direct way. But it's definitely been long enough that she doesn't have any reason to hope, you know? You're right about the compatibility thing. It's really just a phrase. If it were that easy to find someone, I wouldn't be single right now, lol.
